We were invited to attend the annual general meeting of the KwaZulu-Natal region of the UCCSA. This was held Saturday, May 26, and hosted by the Adams Mission church in the Amanzimtoti area south of Durban. We were surprised to discover that we were to be considered voting delegates, a right we exercised rarely and with due caution that it did not affect anything! There was good attendance, and the meeting -- though it took all day -- did keep moving, and certainly could have taken much, much longer. There was a succession of reports, and a discussion of the issues of the moment, including the new organizational pattern for the denomination. The committee with which we work found itself the repository of some newly unanticipated assignments, and there were elections for the new officers. A few prayers, sufficient food, and a little singing. It was a church meeting. We were privileged to attend, to discover that we knew a number of the people there, and to learn that many of them had heard of us and some of what we've been about over the past months. It was a good day.
